Skye Terrier
|
Description
The Skye Terrier is an elegant, long and low terrier. It has a powerful muzzle, a black nose, dark brown eyes, and either upright or falling-down ears. Its tail is pendent and never curled. Its undercoat is soft but its outer coat is long, hard, straight, free of any rippling and parts down the middle of the back. The colours of its coat are either grey-blue, dove or cream, always with black ears. The hair also shields and protects the eyes and forehead. The hare-like feet are long and large, pointing forward. Height: 9-10 inches (23-25cm.) Weight: 19-24 pounds (7-11kg.)
The Skye Terrier is very good-natured, polite and affectionate. Courageous, spunky and bold. Loving and playful, but more serious than most terriers. They need a lot of attention to be happy. Loyal, protective, and a bit willful. They often do not like to be touched by strangers and may bite. Be careful around other small animals, as the Skye likes to chase, and they can be a bit dog-aggressive. These little dogs like to bark.

|
Description
The Parson Jack Russell Terrier is a small, compact and athletic dog. White with reddish black, tan, or brown markings, especially in the head and tail. The skull is flat between the ears, then tapering. The nose is black and the almond-shaped eyes are dark. The v-shaped ears fold forward. The Jack Russell has a flexible body and fairly small chest to enable him to go to ground after his prey. The tail is carried gaily and set fairly high. Height: 9-15 inches (23-38cm.) Weight: 14-18 pounds (6-8kg.)
The Parson Jack Russell Terrier is a perky, merry, devoted, and loving dog. Spirited and obedient, and absolutely fearless. Careful and amusing, he enjoys games and playing with toys. Friendly and generally kind to children who are gentle with him. They are intelligent, yet willful and determined. The Jack Russell can be aggressive with other dogs if not well trained and socialized. They have strong hunting instincts and should not be trusted with other small animals. They like to chase and explore. Be careful not to let them off the lead unless they are very well-trained. Jack Russells like to bark and dig. They tend to get restless and destructive if not kept occupied and well exercised. Jack Russells climb, they also jump. They can easily jump five feet. This is a big dog in a little dogs body.
